the quarter ends! (or) forgetfulness

well, officially the first quarter of school is over. YAAHH!! let's cheer and celebrate! oh, but wait..there are three more to go! teaching is always a surprise...there is never a dull moment nor a moment where i feel that i have finally mastered anything. hah...really, this year is all about learning. i feel like this is an entire year in which these children must be spared. my class apparently has had a terrible kindergarten class so while i'm trying to pull them up by their bootstraps to help them stand, i'm trying terribly hard not to damage their little brains...oh how resilient children are...

life in dc is going well right now. i'm really thankful for the weather, nice and crisp, the colors on the trees, yellow, orange, and red, and the people who surround me, especially those at my school. the staff is amazing and supportive and i have this feeling that once i move on next year, i'm going to wish i appreciated them more.

i love that teaching in a catholic school has made me more spiritually minded and aware of god...god is always present and i have never had that constant reminder, that i've prayed for, to help me, to remind me to be close to god and mindful. wow, i think i just repeated myself twice or thrice in the same sentence.

i always used to wish my friends would update their blogs more often but i am understanding all too well now how busy things get and how a blog is the last thing on your mind. i do miss all of you and will be home for christmas!
